Cosmas Maduka was born in Jos a Northern part of Nigeria, on the 24th of December, 1958. He lost his father at the age of four. Due to his very poor background Cosmas had to drop out from school to help his mother hawk bean cake "akara" in Nigerian vernacular. He was then farmed to his maternal uncle in Lagos as an apprentice in the sale of motorcycle parts.

After seven years as an apprentice, he had a disagreement with his uncle on the basis of his Christian faith as a young man. His uncle grew angry and then decided to release him from his apprenticeship program, giving him the sum of 200 Naira Nigerian currency, as opposed to the practice and initial agreement of setting him up with a shop and goods.

The indefatigable Cosmas told his Uncle "with Christ on my side, this 200 naira, I promise you that I will turn it to 20,000 naira in 5 years". As fate would have it, Cosmas did not turn the 200 naira to 20,000 naira, he actually turned the 200 naira to billions of Naira in ten years.

Before his breakthrough Cosmas experienced major disappointments and business failures one after another. During these trying times Cosmas married his heart throb charity. His company name "Coscharis" is a combination of his name Cosmas and his wife Charity. Today, Coscharis motors is the leading distributor of several brand of luxury cars including Range Rover, ford and jaguar.

Forty-one years later, his business empire spans several sectors of the economy and several countries amongst which are, Coscharis Motors limited, Coscharis Auto industries limited, coscharis export limited, coscharis technology limited, closest farms limited, and major holdings in access bank. He is estimated to be worth around $800 million
